Our dedicated team of physicians, with over 35 years of combined experience, are urgent care specialists and board-certified. Our staff also includes physician assistants, nurse practitioners as well as professional and caring registered nurses and medical assistants.

Dr Oyler
Dr. Richard Oyler

Dr. O (Richard Oyler) is a fourth-generation member of the West Mobile community. He graduated from Baker High School, and is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of South Alabama (B.S. Physics).

Dr. O earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He completed a general surgery internship in Birmingham, and a three-year residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Florida, where he was chief resident.

Dr. O is board certified in Emergency Medicine, and practiced emergency medicine in Mobile for 18 years before opening Compass Urgent Care. He is a member of the American Medical Association of the State of Alabama, and of Mobile County.

Dr. O is a certified MRO (Medical Review Officer), and is qualified to meet the needs of local businesses requiring drug and alcohol testing.

Dr. Richard Oyler

Dr. Paul Fineburg

Dr. Paul Fineburg is a board certified Family Practice Physician. He attended residency at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Florida.

Dr. Fineburg worked at South Coast Family Physicians in Pascagoula, MS for 10 years as a physician/owner before joining our staff at Compass Urgent Care in January 2014.

Dr. Fineburg is a resident of Lucedale, MS and enjoys spending time with family, sports and coaching his children’s athletic teams.

Dr. Paul Fineburg

Dr. Paul Fineburg is a board certified Family Practice Physician. He attended residency at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Florida.

Dr. Fineburg worked at South Coast Family Physicians in Pascagoula, MS for 10 years as a physician/owner before joining our staff at Compass Urgent Care in January 2014.

Dr. Fineburg is a resident of Lucedale, MS and enjoys spending time with family, sports and coaching his children’s athletic teams.

Dr. Carol Parks

Dr. Carol Parks has been an ER/Urgent Care physician for 30 years in 6 different states. She has recently centered her full-time duties at Compass Urgent Care.

Dr. Parks began her medical career as an RN, then a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Cardiovascular Intensive Care for both pediatric and adult patients undergoing open heart surgery. She received her BSN form the University of Florida, her MSN in exercise physiology and nursing from UAB, and her Medical Degree from USA College of Medicine.

She is a juried glass artist, an avid kayaker and bicyclist and mother/Ma Mer to her family in Mobile. She loves teaching and brings her positive energy to us, her Compass Urgent Care family!

Dr. John Rud

Dr. John Rud

Dr. Rud is a semi-retired board certified Emergency Medicine physician who has enjoyed the privilege of working at Compass Urgent Care. After 21 years of practicing at Rapid City Regional Hospital in South Dakota, he retired in June 2020.

Following high school, Dr. Rud spent three years as a combat medic in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg. He attained his undergraduate degree form South Dakota State University, graduating with Honors in 1979. In 1985, he graduated with a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. His post graduate training includes an internship at Maricopa County Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona and he then completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Florida. He served as president of the South Dakota chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians and is a current member of the National Chapter of American College of Emergency Physicians. He is a lifelong resident of South Dakota currently residing in Rapid City and the beautiful Black Hills.

Jonathan Parker, CRNP

Jonathan Parker is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Mr. Parker retired from the Mobile Fire Department after serving the community for 22 years as a paramedic.

After graduating from the University of South Alabama, he spent four years as a registered nurse in the University of South Alabama Trauma Center while attending Nurse Practitioner School at Troy University.

Jonathan and his family are residents of Semmes, AL. He enjoys spending time with family, college football and is an avid outdoorsman.

Nikki was born and raised in Mobile, AL. She studied vocal performance and Biology at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Lee University with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences.

Nikki went on to earn her master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of South Alabama. During her time at the USA, she was inducted into the Alpha Eta Honors Society. As a Physician Assistant, Nikki worked for 10 years in Urology and has work for Compass Urgent Care since 2018.

Nikki volunteers to serve on medical mission teams throughout Central America to reach underserved populations. Her free time is spent with family and friends and listening to podcasts.

Stan Clayton, CRNP

Stan Clayton is a certified registered nurse practitioner specializing in Family Practice which enables him to treat adults as well as children. He graduated with his Bachelors of Nursing from the University of West Florida. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, he worked as a registered nurse in the emergency room for 30 years before graduating with his Masters in Nursing from Troy University.

He is a resident of Loxley, Alabama and has two beautiful children. He enjoys traveling with his wife, fly fishing and golfing. He has loved the art of woodworking since middle school and is now a master craftsman building custom pieces on his time off.

Crystal Morgan, CRNP

Crystal Morgan, a native of Lucedale, Mississippi, graduated from University of South Alabama with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2009. Crystal worked as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department for nine years before returning to The University of South Alabama to further her education. In 2018, Crystal graduated as a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Crystal enjoys traveling, live music, and spending quality time with her family and friends in her spare time.

Mark Minton, PA-C

An Alabama native, Mark Minton spent the first twenty-five years of his life in Gadsden. He is a 2008 graduate of the University of South Alabama Physician Assistant program. His practice experience has spanned the areas of pediatrics, emergency medicine, family medicine and urgent care. Prior to being certified as a PA, he served both as a paramedic and an RN as well. Mr. Minton is an active member of the Alabama Army National Guard, serving in various roles within the state and overseas since 2008. He now serves as assistant professor in the department of PA studies at his alma mater. If not with patients or students, you will usually find him on an adventure with his wife and kids, on a motorcycle, or piloting a small single engine airplane around the gulf coast.

Pamela Vayda, PA-C

Pamela Vayda, PA-C

A native of Lucedale, MS, Pam holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and psychology from William Carey University in Hattiesburg, where she graduated magna cum laude. Pam earned her Master of Science degree in general biology from Mississippi State University. She has taught in several schools in multiple states including Missouri, Texas, and most recently in Mississippi at both Meridian Community College and Mississippi State University-Meridian. A graduate of Mississippi State University’s inaugural Master of Physician Assistant Studies program, Pam served as vice president of her class and was honored as one of 3 students to garner the Capstone Research Award. In her free time, Pam enjoys time with her family and friends, hiking, reading, kayaking, and baking.
